2012 Blog of the Year award

Blog of the Year Award 1 star jpeg

I am flabbergasted, humbled and to use a term from the person who nominated me, gobsmacked. I have to say, I like that British turn of phrase. So first and foremost, thank you to Vikki Thompson at The View Outside for thinking enough of my blog to nominate me for this.

Secondly, I know I don’t make the rounds as much as I should, but even though I don’t comment I have learned quite a bit from my fellow writers and bloggers. And I haven’t just learned more about the writing craft, they’ve helped me learn about other places and different ways of looking at things, including my own writing.

Here’s where the post originated.

Like every blog award, there are rules attached. I’m becoming more and more of a rule breaker, but I think I might just follow this one.

1 Select the blog(s) you think deserve the ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award

2 Write a blog post and tell us about the blog(s) you have chosen – there’s no minimum or maximum number of blogs required – and ‘present’ them with their award.

3 Please include a link back to this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award – http://thethoughtpalette.co.uk/our-awards/blog-of-the-year-2012-award/   and include these ‘rules’ in your post (please don’t alter the rules or the badges!)

4 Let the blog(s) you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the ‘rules’ with them

5 You can now also join our Facebook group – click ‘like’ on this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award Facebook group and then you can share your blog with an even wider audience

6 As a winner of the award – please add a link back to the blog that presented you with the award – and then proudly display the award on your blog and sidebar … and start collecting stars…

So there are the rules. And here are the blogs I am nominating.

Raelyn Barclay

Donna K Weaver

Stacey Purcell and Jennifer Bray-Weber

Ruby Slippered Sisterhood

Deniz Bevan

I’m sure there are some I’ve missed. As I said, so many different people have made an impact on me this year.  I want to thank everyone who has taken the time to read, comment on and pick on me about my blog. (Picking on is mainly the hubby when he catches my mistakes 😀 )

Hope you all have a great week and thanks again for all you’ve taught me. And thanks again to Vikki for the nomination.

Melanie
