I love going to Renaissance Festivals and Faires. I have made my own costumes, but regrettably haven’t had the time to actually work at a festival. Though on several occasions I have been mistaken for an employee. (A HUGE compliment, by the way.) I’ll add random links for your random enjoyment!
I’m a participant my local-ish medieval faire and I love it! I’ve done the living chess match, worked as a street performing and my latest gig was part of a singing wench show. It’s so much fun – I say do it!
Of course, my fair is about an eighth of the size of the one in Texas. I had a friend get married there about ten years ago.
Thanks for stopping by. I love our Ren Fest. I used to go to the one in California and have been hooked ever since. I wish I could do more during the festival weeks. Though when I’m in costume, people come up and ask for directions.
We have a big Michigan Renaissance Festival here that I LOVE to go to! I don’t dress up but I do really enjoy walking around chewing on that turkey leg…lol
Sorry Steph, never saw the reply! In all my years, I’ve never gotten the turkey leg! Give me the bread bowl with stew and I’m a happy camper.
I too love Renaissance Festivals! I’m a fellow campaigner and just wanted to say hi. I don’t write fiction…yet, but I’m looking forward to learning a lot from you.
Thanks for stopping by Cindy. I won’t lie, there’s a lot to learn. But if you’re in the right frame of mind it feels more like a labor of love than flat out labor. See you in the challenge!
